A Very Bookish Christmas

Christmas came early for me this year, because I’ve been off work since Saturday. My bosses are kind enough to not make us go to work this week. So far, I have finished wrapping all the presents and I’ll be off to start grocery-shopping for our Christmas Eve dinner.

It has been a great couple of days so far. Every night, my sister and I have been watching Christmas movies, including Love Actually and Home Alone. But during the day and before I go to sleep, I cuddle some heart-warming books in bed with me.

I have recently finished reading Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol for the nth time. I try to read eat at least once every two years, because it’s the perfect buddy during this cozy weather.

When my nephew came over yesterday, we read How the Grinch Stole Christmas Together. He loved it as much as I loved it as a kid. It’s a classic, and something no one can’t really outgrow.

Right now, I’m reading J.R.R. Tolkien’s Letters From Father Christmas. I was surprised when I saw the book in a garage sale, because I didn’t know the one who wrote about middle earth also wrote about Christmas! So far, I’m enjoying every bit of it.

This week is turning into a great one, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be more chaotic as Christmas Day approaches. For now, I’ll just revel in the quiet confines of my room with my books.

Happy Holidays, everyone! Be merry and happy this season~ 🙂
